Government Benefits is a Solid Program of Goverment

Government benefit programs were implemented by Franklin D. Roosevelt after the Great Depression. They are there to benefit the people that are in need. Your race, ethnicity, short, tall, does not matter, everyone needs a little help from time to time. Lifeline, food stamps, and Medicaid are there to help families that do not have the economic strength they should.

Lifeline is a program that offers a discount on phone service for qualifying low income consumers. It is implemented to ensure that all Americans have the opportunities and security that phone service brings, like being able to connect to jobs, family, and emergency services. They can get discount on a house phone but also a cellular device. People that have phones do not know what it is to be without one. You cannot be contacted for a job interview or for a scholarship interview or for an important medical appointment. In 2008, they implemented the prepaid wireless service plans. Those service plans can help you in case you are stranded in the middle of the highway or someone collapses in front of you.

The Texas Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP helps many Texas make ends meet each month. After paying utilities, transportation, child care, and mobile service, there’s often little left over to buy nutritious food. This program is federally funded to help low income families, elderly people, and single adults. If you do not eat healthy, you can perform at your best whether it is in school or at your job or at home. There has been numerous studies that show that proper nutrition helps children’s brains perform better in school and in state tests.

WIC or Women, Infants, and Children is a program that revitalizes quality nutrition services. It is an evolving process of continuous program improvement involving partners at the Federal, State and local levels. Its main goal is to enhance and strengthen the effectiveness of WIC nutrition services that WIC will continue to be the premiere national public health nutrition program, helping participants achieve and maintain optimal nutrional status. It is not just an aid to buy groceries but also to get Texas families as healthy as possible. The RQNS processes emerged because of two studies. It strengthens nutrition education, it adopts a more behavioral approach in nutrition education, be more client oriented and focus on healthy behaviors for life.

To further improve these programs effectiveness we as people could support the programs. We could help donate or approve of because we all need help once in a while. If we help each other out, when we need help people or the government will help us. The government also needs to further check requirements of the programs. There is some eligible people that do not receive benefits but people that do receive benefits that do not need food assistance or any assistance. Those people should let the people that are in need. Homeless people should also get help getting back on their feet. They should get a suit to go to a job interview or start to make a career path.

The Advantges of Having Medicaid Plan

All around the world people are hungry, sick, poor, and impoverished. We’ve all seen the commercials on TV persuading Americans to send money to various cooperations around the world in an attempt to aid those who can’t help themselves. Cooperations use children to appeal to American’s emotions. “For just a dollar a day, you can help save these hungry children,” they advise credulous viewers.

Americans are easily persuaded into helping those in other countries; however, they fail to notice the poverty and hunger surrounding them daily. As an American citizen who lives a privileged life and has witnessed the painful effects of hunger first hand within my family members, I believe that all people should have the opportunity to be provided with the necessities of a comfortable lifestyle. This being said, it has been brought to my attention that Congress has been debating whether or not to cut funding from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). This would be detrimental not only to the health of our citizens but also to the country’s economy. SNAP is a fundamental aspect of our country, and Congress can not afford to cut its funding.

There are 16 million children in America who live in households without consistent access to adequate food. 21 million American children rely on free or reduced-price lunches for their nutritional needs on an average school day as well as 3 million children who receive free meals in the summer when school is out of session. Poverty is everywhere, yet we continue to focus on the poverty of others rather than helping those around us. One in every five American children suffers from hunger.

Due to the high amount of debt in America, Congress continues making budget cuts in an attempt to save funds. However, lately Congress has been looking into cutting funding from SNAP, commonly known as food stamps, which would only increase the amount of hungry children we have in America. SNAP is a vital part of our country. It feeds 14% of all US households. On average, the monthly SNAP benefit is about $133.85 per person. This amounts to just $1.48 per meal. How is that Americans are willing to send “just a dollar a day” to help children in other countries battle hunger, but struggle giving taxes to support $1.48 a day to help hungry children in America? SNAP helps feed not only the adults and senior citizens of our country, but it helps feed many of our children.

SNAP isn’t a long-term program that families are just allowed to stay in forever. There are countless stories of how helpful SNAP has been in the lives of Americans. One example of the amazing benefits of SNAP comes from Steven Johnson, a medically discharged soldier who was airlifted out of Afghanistan due to a shoulder injury. When Johnson got home he expected to receive the Veterans Affairs medical disability benefits as soon as his military pay stopped. However, this wasn’t the case. The military failed to notify Johnson that it takes about 394 days for disability cases to process, so Johnson, his wife, and 3 teenage children were forced to fend for themselves until their case was heard. Johnson tried going back to work, but his shoulder still hadn’t completely recovered causing him severe pain during the workday. He pawned jewelry, his television, and other personal belongings to try to get money for food and bills. His children even applied for after school jobs, but it still wasn’t enough.

The Johnson family was forced to apply for SNAP. “I wasn’t embarrassed,” Johnson said. “I’m not going to sit here and let my kids go hungry because of my pride.” Each week after that, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson carefully planned how to use the $125 weekly allowance. They lived off peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for a while because it was all they could afford. The Johnson family is not the only story of how beneficial food stamps can be in the face of adversity. There are countless others who have experienced hard times in their lives, and, had it not been for the help of SNAP, they wouldn’t have been able to feed themselves or their family.

Many Americans are against SNAP because they say it is detrimental to our country’s economy. They think it is just a long-term program that families use when they are too lazy to get jobs and supply their own needs. However, these statements are false. The average time a family uses SNAP is about 9 months. SNAP is a temporary fix to hardships due to disabilities, injuries, and low-income.
According to studies done by Economists, every dollar of SNAP spending generates $1.70 back into local economy activity. The USDA has calculated that food stamps generate money back into the economy; so, cutting SNAP will also effect the U.S. economy. It would also dent revenues for the 250,000 groceries and supermarkets around the country that accept SNAP. This would in turn affect millions of jobs from store workers to truck drivers delivering food to those stores.

SNAP is actually beneficial to the economy, and, although it is already extremely efficient and effective, it could still be improved. One possible way to make this program more effective would be to have the participants help pay off their debt to the country after finding a job to support themselves. For example, if a person had relied on SNAP for 5 months and used $500 for food, then once they obtained a job they would have to pay the government back the $500 they took. That way, food stamps would be more of a loan process rather than a free money program. This would also guarantee money would constantly be in the SNAP fund because there would always be people giving money back to the program.

The Best Tools For Valuable Medicaid Planning

Financial difficulties have occurred to most people in a point in their life. This has been a situation which some people cannot overcome. The government has helped this people by being able to have benefit programs. Some programs the government gives are Food Stamps, Medicaid, and Unemployment. These programs are given to those people in need of help because they don’t have the income to buy food or get the health care they need for them and their families.

Food Stamps are a possibility for families to feed their family. The government have given this to many people. Food Stamps are maintained under check depending on how much income the household gets. The household has to have a certain amount of income coming in so that the government can help them, they cannot be above that income. Also depending on the amount of family members the household has it also depends on how much money the government will give that household. Food Stamps are of great importance for the people because some people cannot afford to buy a great amount of food or any amount of food with their paychecks. The government could also improve this program by really looking into the situation of each person and make sure that they are trying to help their families in bringing food in to the household and not selling the food stamps for real money to just go and spend on other things.

Medicaid has been a great use for many people who don’t have the money for a good health care. Medicaid has helped many single mothers with their children and having the possibility of feeding them and giving them the good health checkups they need in their first couple of years. Children of all ages and elderly people have been greatly benefitted by getting the care they need, the government is of great importance in their life because if it wasn’t for the government they would probably not be able to eat or even death would come upon them.

One major thing that the government has hold strong on and maintained constant when needed are the unemployment checks. The unemployment helps feed and maintain all of those people who have lost their jobs. The unemployment has been of great importance because it keeps many people able to pay their bills and their housing. This has been a long going program that the government has to offer. The government could also improve this program by making sure that all the people that apply for unemployment are actually trying to find a job and not just trying to live of the government. They could also check in all their records to make sure that they don’t just apply for a job and on purpose lose it so that they can go back to unemployment and not having to worry about anything.

The government has been giving many people the hope they need. They have been able to help them through all the rough times and have helped many people who need it. They have helped many households to keep feeding the people in their home by giving Food Stamps. They have been able to help single mother or single fathers who don’t have the income to give their children the right health care that they need. And lastly they have helped many people maintain a healthy lifestyle by being able to pay the bills and keep a paycheck by getting unemployment. The government could make great changes to their systems, but even if they don’t they have been able to meet a great expectance for the people.
